Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS) or also referred to as Short Gut Syndrome (SGS) is a rare but serious condition that can lead to significant functional impairment, disability, premature death if not properly managed with timely and targeted medical and nutritional support. SBS is characterized by reduced nutrient processing capability in the small intestine resulting in a myriad and often debilitating symptoms. Management of Short Bowel Syndrome requires a personalized individual approach to manage it efficiently.
