🩺 Understanding Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS)
Short Bowel Syndrome—also frequently referred to as Short Gut Syndrome (SGS)—is a rare, complex, and potentially life-threatening condition. It is characterized by a drastically reduced nutrient processing capability in the small intestine, typically following surgical resection.
Without timely, targeted, and highly personalized medical and nutritional intervention, SBS can lead to severe functional impairment, permanent disability, and premature death. Because the condition manifests differently in every individual, generic treatment plans are ineffective; managing SBS efficiently requires a highly tailored, patient-specific approach.
