Candy – Longstanding Leader and Admin Team Member
Candy has been an integral part of the Short Bowel Syndrome Foundation (SBSF) community since 2011. That same year, she joined the SBSF Admin Team on Facebook and has remained a dedicated, active member ever since.
With more than 14 years of continuous service, Candy plays a vital role in ensuring the foundation’s online support groups remain welcoming, well-organized, and responsive to the needs of patients, caregivers, and families living with short bowel syndrome. When the Executive Director is unavailable due to illness or other commitments, Candy seamlessly steps into a leadership position. She oversees all online support groups, facilitates discussions, addresses member inquiries, and maintains a supportive environment for everyone who turns to SBSF for guidance and connection.
In addition to her visible presence in the groups, Candy contributes extensively behind the scenes, helping to manage day-to-day foundation operations and supporting the broader mission of SBSF. Her consistent reliability, deep knowledge of the SBS community, and unwavering commitment have made her an indispensable member of the team and a trusted resource for thousands of individuals affected by short bowel syndrome.
