Ms. Aleah Smith is the director of young adults and development, working closely with the young adult population, helping create a transition of care process for pediatrics entering their young adult years. Aleah is currently attending DeVry University. She was diagnosed with short bowel syndrome shortly after birth and has been involved in several foundation’s and groups for people with short bowel or for people on nutritional support. With the Short Bowel Syndrome Foundation, she wants to help the executive team expand to a broader, young adult division by providing support and education to those who live with the disease.

Aleah outside of her Foundation work, enjoys doing cosplay for different characters she can relate too. Attending conferences and panels in full costume, Aleah is well known for her imitations of anime characters in pop culture.
